Evaluation Question 3

These are a collection of feedback left about the video one social media

From social feedback we got , it is clear that an image for the artist was established and that the audience responded well to it. Most reported to have really liked how 'shy' the artist way because made her endearing but also how she 'seems to grow more confident towards the end' the audience feel more engaged and emotionally attached to the artist. The narrative seemed almost like a 'bildungsroman'. Some of the lip synching could have been improved , it would be better if I have filmed more takes in order to have a larger range of shots to choose from with accurate fully accurate lip synching. People seemed to like the cinematography of the video as it fits the the 'feel of the song' as the video parallel's the meaning of the song. For example on the lyric that says 'deeper for you' it would be matched with shots of the guy in order to show that he is the object of the artists desire.
I also did a survey in order to ask specific questions about my video to a larger Audience. I surveyed 40 people using survey monkey.

These are some of the comments , answers and statistics. we got.

When asked if they enjoyed the music video 100% of the people said yes:
Some of the comments they left include:

When asked what was done successfully , here are some comments people left:

When asked what could have been improved people responded:

Some of people's favourite parts of the music video were:

When asked what they're impression of the artist , here are some of the comments people left:

These are the statistics of the number of people who felt the video had effectively branded the artist:

These are some of the comments people left explaining why they felt that way:

When analysing these results it is clear that , the video was overall effective and enjoyable to the audience. We see this because 62.50% said it was effective and 37.50% thought it was very effective , none of the people who were questioned found the video to be ineffective which supports that I produced an effective video. From the comments that were left on why people hough the music video was effective a number of the comments suggested that the most effective thing was the mise en scene and narrative because together they provided the audience with escapism that engaged them into the storyline the artist was conveying. Surprisingly the artists 'timid' and 'shyness' got an extremely positive response from the audience because most people could identify with it and it made artist 'endearing'. The end of the video seemed to leave a positive lasting effect on people. As many people reported to have 'really enjoyed the ending' and some found the ending 'really cute'.

I conducted a focus group to generate conversation about the music music video

From this audience feedback , it is clear that people responded well to mise en scene however , there were some things that could have been improved like the performance of the  music video , though the 'awkward' performance also helped shape a loveable image for the artist. Over all I think the music video was effective as it achieved the desired effect. It marketed the artist and entertained the audience. There was also a good got variation throughout the music video , therefore even though the music was slow the video was fast paced and kept the audience more entertained and interested and it was edited to the beat. It would have been better if I had used a wider range of shots because that would have added to the effect of my fast paced editing.

Evaluation Question 4

Evaluation Question 2

Evaluation Question 1

Similar to 'Somebody To you' By the vamps and Demi Lavato , my video begin's with an establishing shot to set the scene for the whole video , this shots also show of aesthetically pleasing mise-en-scene.It is important to make sure video's have interesting location as this is one of the conventions of a good video.

Laura Malyve's theory of the male gaze , states that while the femlae gaze if passive the male gaze is active we see this in 'Somebody to you' by The Vamps ft Demi Lavato. However in my music video this  convention is challenged , we have the male gaze being passive and the female gaze being active. The hegemony is reversed.

Andrew Goodwin states that music videos will have close ups of the artists singing. We see this a lot in 'Somebody to you' By the Vamps and Demi Lavato. Similarly in my music video there is repeated use of this convention.

The underlying toes in colour and closed eyes show some venerability and weakness which reflects the more emotional songs in the album. The closeup of the artist showcases her brand , it is an appealing and aesthetically pleasing cover which attracts attention and leaves a lasting impression. This is amplified by the name 'elusive' which adds so the mysterious vibe. This is similar to Rihanna's album cover for 'LOUD'.

The album/Artist name is in big bold letters that stand out at fist glance. There is a running colour theme in the 'Hurts' Poster it is black , Grey and white and in my poster it's orange and black. Colours that compliment each other. There are reviews from trusted and well known forms of media to persuade viewers that the product is of good quality. We see this in the 'Hurts' Poster as it seems to come highly recommended. I have included the most popular songs in order for people who may have heard them but aren't familiar with the artist to recognise them. There is also information about the tour dates. This is a new convection that started because of the rise of piracy for music. Because less people by music tours are usually an artists biggest source of income. Therefore it is essential to include information about them.

The digipak like Rihanna's has a lot of pictures of the artist , it also has a running theme. For Rihanna its roses and the colour red and for my digipak its black orange along with guitar's. Her theme runs onto her CD as it is a rose , and mine runs into my cd as my cd is a closeup of guitar strings.

I have used the same font for my album cover as for my poster. This font is my brand post , artists utilise this to make their brands recognisable an example is jessie J. Who's brand is recognisable through her big bold font.

Editing the digipak

I've been looking for a font to use on my album cover. I have decided to use different fonts for the name of the artist and the album name. This is seen often as certain artists have a different font for their because their name is part of their brand. An example is Jessie J and the Arctic Monkeys
