Similar to 'Somebody To you' By the vamps and Demi Lavato , my video begin's with an establishing shot to set the scene for the whole video , this shots also show of aesthetically pleasing mise-en-scene.It is important to make sure video's have interesting location as this is one of the conventions of a good video.
Laura Malyve's theory of the male gaze , states that while the femlae gaze if passive the male gaze is active we see this in 'Somebody to you' by The Vamps ft Demi Lavato. However in my music video this convention is challenged , we have the male gaze being passive and the female gaze being active. The hegemony is reversed.
Andrew Goodwin states that music videos will have close ups of the artists singing. We see this a lot in 'Somebody to you' By the Vamps and Demi Lavato. Similarly in my music video there is repeated use of this convention.
The underlying toes in colour and closed eyes show some venerability and weakness which reflects the more emotional songs in the album. The closeup of the artist showcases her brand , it is an appealing and aesthetically pleasing cover which attracts attention and leaves a lasting impression. This is amplified by the name 'elusive' which adds so the mysterious vibe. This is similar to Rihanna's album cover for 'LOUD'.
The album/Artist name is in big bold letters that stand out at fist glance. There is a running colour theme in the 'Hurts' Poster it is black , Grey and white and in my poster it's orange and black. Colours that compliment each other. There are reviews from trusted and well known forms of media to persuade viewers that the product is of good quality. We see this in the 'Hurts' Poster as it seems to come highly recommended. I have included the most popular songs in order for people who may have heard them but aren't familiar with the artist to recognise them. There is also information about the tour dates. This is a new convection that started because of the rise of piracy for music. Because less people by music tours are usually an artists biggest source of income. Therefore it is essential to include information about them.
The digipak like Rihanna's has a lot of pictures of the artist , it also has a running theme. For Rihanna its roses and the colour red and for my digipak its black orange along with guitar's. Her theme runs onto her CD as it is a rose , and mine runs into my cd as my cd is a closeup of guitar strings.
I have used the same font for my album cover as for my poster. This font is my brand post , artists utilise this to make their brands recognisable an example is jessie J. Who's brand is recognisable through her big bold font.
