digipack

Digipaks typically consist of a gatefold  paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside. It means the cd comes in a cardboard flip-out case rather than a standard plastic hinged case. Digipak-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums and the tall DVD Digipak (DVDigipak) is used as a premium package for DVDs and DVD sets.

  •        Pictures – usually at least one will be of the artist(s) and another might be of a scene that reflects the mood / genre of the record.
  •          Track List including song writing credits.
  •          One box with a Disk impression (perhaps a circle over an innocuous background that shows where the disc will go or alternatively the design on the actual disc).
  •          A Band/Artist information section (names, instruments, additional musicians, Copyright and year of release etc.).
  •          Bar-code and QR and a Logo for the record company.
  •          Possibly reference to other albums by the same artist(s).

The large image inside the Digipak  presents a lot of emotion through the use of the busy background full of beautiful bold roses and the way the protagonist is lying on them , creates a sense of weakness. The  red  roses also go with  her hair and  make the  album more aesthetically pleasing . Sex appeal is also shows through both  the images. The album cover looks seductive and mysterious.

The underlying toes in colour and closed eyes show some venerability and weakness which reflects the more emotional songs in the album. How ever the word's 'LOUD' still reminds the consumer that Rihanna is a bold and exciting artist.

Most of the digipak is black with white accents. There is no real picture of the singer but there is her hair which is famously known and used in the video ‘Chandelier.’ This goes with Sia's image of not wanting to be famous but being an 'idea' and an she uses her blond wig as an icon. Thus gives the album a sense of mystery and illusiveness. This contrasts against the black background and makes it stand out more. The back of the digipak, is also her hair, but spread out across the page with the track list in the top left hand corner. The hair on the main album cover is mainly centred, whereas the hair on the back cover is edged towards the bottom right. The font is quite small and scribbly making it less noticeable, instead the main focus being the hair. The colour is also the same white as the hair. On the CD, the writing is, instead of white, black so it contrasts with the white stripe.
